The coronavirus and the restrictions resulting from the pandemic have forced the suspension of many funeral trade shows this past 2021. However, the organisers of funeral home exhibitions are optimistic about the progress of the vaccination and infection figures, so it is time to get out your calendar and mark in red the most important and unavoidable dates of the funeral home expo calendar for 2022 and 2023.

Funeral trade shows in America

ICCFA Annual Convention & Exposition (Las Vegas, USA)

The International Cemetery, Crematory and Funeral Home Association’s Annual Convention & Exposition is the jewel in the ICCFA’s crown when it comes to events. After two years on hold due to the pandemic, it will finally take place 22-25 March at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas (Nevada). Attendees will enjoy educational sessions, an exhibition hall with the latest innovations and the chance to establish first-class professional relationships, a reason why its fans return year after year.

Feira Funerária (Natal, Brazil)

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 edition of Feira Funerária dwas held entirely online. The reference show in Brazil will return on 20, 21, 22 April 2022 in style, if circumstances permit it, with multiple exhibitions and talks by industry professionals.

FUMEXPO (Guadalajara, Mexico)

Mexico’s largest funeral home industry event, FUMEXPO, will be held on 13, 14 and 15 September 2022. In addition to exhibiting the latest trends, the organisers will implement a Business Training Programme with seminars, conferences and workshops on current topics to strengthen and boost the business vision, competitiveness, productivity and development of funeral homes.

NFDA Convention & Expo (Nashville, USA)

The next International Convention & Expo of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) will take place from 9-12 October in Baltimore. At the moment there is not much information, but we will certainly know more details about this event that brings together half a thousand exhibitors when registration opens in the spring of 2022. As a preview, exhibitors have already announced “inspirational general sessions with dynamic speakers, expert-led workshops, the world’s largest funeral home services exhibition and much more…”

Funeral trade shows in Europe

Cevisama (Valencia, Spain)

Cevisama is not a funeral trade show as such, but it is an essential event for suppliers of urns and marble workers in the funeral industry. From 7 to 11 February 2022, Valencia will be a large commercial showcase for international ceramic and natural stone companies, who are taking advantage of the first trade show of the year to showcase their new products.

Tanexpo (Bologna, Italy)

Tanexpo, the reference point in Italy for the entire funeral home industry, returns on 7, 8 and 9 April 2022. New products, cutting-edge technologies, personalised details and excellent designs… Highlights include new products from Car Fiberglass, the company specialising in commercial vehicle coverings for the transportation of bodies, and Rotastyle, a veteran of the Italian funeral home expo and a leading producer of high-end funeral articles.

Leben und Tod (Bremen, Germany)

Bremen’s Leben und Tod (Life and Death) funeral trade show will kick off on 6 and 7 May with a surprising question: “Is there ice cream in heaven?” The event is aimed at all those who deal with death and mourning and offers a specific training space for dealing with funeral home issues in society and exchanging ideas among professionals.

Funergal Orense (Orense, Spain)

The 11th edition of Funergal returns to Orense on 19 and 20 May and brings together business people from the industry in Spain and Portugal. In fact, the 2nd International Congress of Funeral Directors will take place during the same dates. The programme for 2022 will be available shortly, but according to the organisers, the event will continue to host trade missions for importers, meetings between funeral home suppliers, professionals and insurance companies, as well as the latest trends in the industry, as in previous editions.

BEFA FORUM (Salzburg, Austria)

After its successful edition in September 2021, the Foro BEFA will return from 26 to 28 May 2022. Both exhibitors and visitors were looking forward to returning face-to-face to this event, which attracts more than 90 exhibitors and approximately 1,300 visitors from more than ten European countries.

Necroexpo (Kielce, Poland)

The 9th International Funeral and Cemetery Fair Necroexpo will be held from 3 to 5 June. After the last edition was cancelled due to covid, one of the oldest European trade shows and business facilitators of the funeral home industry will return to the expo in Kielce. Necroexpo brings together producers of caskets, urns, hearses, as well as designers and producers of gravestones. Its last edition brought together 105 companies and more than 1,500 business experts.

National Funeral Exhibition (London, UK)

The British National Funeral Home Exhibition has been postponed due to the pandemic and will finally be held from 10-12 June 2022. Organised by the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the exhibition is a reference for exhibitors from all over the world, including vehicle fleets, caskets, online memorial services and all types of professional equipment suppliers.

Salon professionnel du funéraire Grand Sud (Toulouse, France)

The fifth edition of the Salon professionnel du funéraire Grand Sud, the most important funeral trade show in the South of France, will be held on 23 and 24 June. It is a local show for south-west Europe and brings together both independent funeral home directors and major accounts. The show also presents the main trends in the industry with a rich programme of conferences and workshops focusing on current issues, latest trends, novelties and innovations in the market.

VTU Uitvaart Vakbeurs (Gorinchem, The Netherlands)

The VTU Uitvaart Vakbeurs will take place from 28 to 30 September 2022. This funeral trade show, organised by the leading Association of Suppliers to the Dutch Funeral Industry, is held once every 4 years with the aim of promoting partnerships within the funeral industry. With its 250 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors, it is the ideal environment to expand your agenda with contacts mainly from Belgium, Germany and England.

Pieta Dresden (Dresden, Germany)

Pieta in Dresden, originally scheduled for the end of May, has been postponed to 26-27 May 2023 due to the coronavirus. Exhibitors from all over Germany and neighbouring countries show how the work of undertakers, cemeteries and crematoria can be done better, more efficiently and more creatively. With around 100 exhibitors and more than 1,200 trade visitors, this is a major event where trends can be assessed and new contacts made.

Funeral trade shows in Asia

Asia Funeral Expo (Hong Kong, China)

Asia Funeral Expo is the largest international funeral and cemetery exhibition and conference in Asia. It was originally scheduled for May 2021, but pandemic-related restrictions forced the organisers to change the date to May 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
